FAQ
-
Silly Goose Quilting offers edge-to-edge longarm quilting. This means one continuous design is quilted across the entire quilt top for a cohesive, polished finish.
-
Yes! You’ll be able to select from our available edge-to-edge designs. We’re happy to help you choose a pattern that complements your quilt. Feel free to search for edge-to-edge designs on one of Silly Goose Quilting’s trusted design sites, Urban Elementz and OESD.
-
We accept quilt tops up to king-size quilts. At least one side of the quilt (width or length) must measure 108 inches or less. Directional quilts must fit within this limit across their width.
-
Turnaround time is typically 4 weeks, depending on the season and current workload. Need your quilt faster than the 4 week turnaround? Select priority quilting for a 15 day turn around from the date of drop off.
Priority Quilting (+$60) - Priority quilting is not available between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
-
You may provide your own batting or you can purchase batting through Silly Goose Quilting.
-
Backing fabric should be at least 4–6 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides to allow proper loading onto the longarm machine. If your backing is sent in too small, we may need to sew leaders onto it so it can be loaded and quilted properly. If we have to sew leaders onto your backing there is a $15 fee.
-
Your quilt top should be pressed, free of loose threads, and seams secured. Borders should lie flat and be square. Backing fabric should be pressed and pieced if necessary.

We will inspect your quilt before quilting. If we notice concerns such as fullness, loose seams, or uneven borders, we’ll contact you to discuss options before proceeding.
